Plain Language Training and Technical Assistance Tools
The tools in this section were created for a layperson audience interested in addressing health and wellness issues using a collaborative community approach. The content was created using interviews with subject matter experts as well as peer-reviewed research.
Content-Specific Training and Technical Assistance Tools
This project involved creating technical assistance tools for public health professionals who wished to collaborate with opioid prescribers to address the challenges of opioid misuse. They were developed using interviews with subject matter experts and synthesis of existing research. While the content for this project is opioid specific, I am adept at tailoring scientific and public health content toward either professional or layperson audiences.

- Collaboration Key to Opichi Wadiswan Success:On the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe reservation in northern Minnesota, Opichi Wadiswan, a once-struggling youth program, finds its footing when a new director embraces a collaborative approach to implementation.
- Omaha Colleges Work Together to Prevent High-Risk Drinking: The Omaha Collegiate Consortium, comprising eight colleges and universities, worked together at a time when many universities are reluctant to share the extent of their student drinking problems.

- MO-HOPE Expands Naloxone Training and Distribution in Eastern Missouri: Missouri developed a flexible naloxone training and distribution program that addresses the concerns of multiple audiences.

- Managing Coalition Dynamics: To support leaders in managing group dynamics, this tool offers an overview of the four stages of group development (from Tuckman’s Stages of Development Team Theory), accompanied by tips for maximizing productivity and cohesion, reducing conflict, and steering group members toward long-term success.

- Tips for Engaging with Prescribers to Prevent Opioid Misuse: This tool provides prevention practitioners with practical tips for connecting with and involving prescribers in prescriber education programs to prevent opioid misuse.
